What Should You Do After a Crash Requiring Extrication in Columbia, MO?

After a crash serious enough to require extrication, getting a thorough medical evaluation should be a top priority, even once you're cleared to leave the hospital. The force involved in freeing someone from a damaged vehicle usually points to a harder impact, and injuries from that kind of trauma aren't always obvious right away.

Once you've been checked out, pay close attention to how your body feels over the following days. Pain in the neck, back, hips, or legs can develop gradually, and headaches, stiffness, or numbness sometimes don't appear until the initial shock has worn off. These delayed symptoms are common after a high-impact collision and are worth tracking closely rather than dismissing as ordinary soreness.

Injuries from a crash like this can affect the spine, joints, and soft tissue in ways that aren't always visible on the surface. This is the main reason why follow-up care matters just as much as the first visit.

If injuries are left untreated, mild discomfort can gradually turn into a longer-term issue that limits mobility or becomes harder to resolve the longer it's ignored. Early, consistent rehabilitation can help address these injuries while they're still manageable.
