Centralia, MO (June 19, 2026) – A 17-year-old boy died on Wednesday night, June 17, after a two-vehicle wreck on Missouri Route 124 at Gano Chance Road near Centralia.
The collision happened around 9:45 p.m. The teen, identified as Centralia High School student and varsity basketball player Hunter Hull, failed to stop at a stop sign, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
Investigators said a 28-year-old woman from Columbia attempted to avoid Hull's vehicle, crossed the center line, and struck the rear of his car. The impact caused his vehicle to overturn multiple times.
Hull was ejected from the car and later died at University Hospital. His passenger, 18-year-old Keilin Dorman of Centralia, and the woman driving the second vehicle were both seriously injured and taken to the hospital.
The investigation remains active.
We extend our deepest condolences to Hunter's family and wish a full recovery to those injured.
After a serious crash like a rollover, prompt medical attention matters, even for injuries that don't seem severe in the first few hours. The body's adrenaline response after a high-impact collision can mask pain, swelling, and stiffness that may only become noticeable once the initial shock wears off.
When describing what happened to a doctor, it helps to explain how the vehicle moved during the crash, whether you struck the seat, door, or window, and where you first felt discomfort. This kind of detail can help a provider narrow down which areas of the body need closer evaluation, particularly after a rollover, where the body can be jostled in multiple directions.
Symptoms from a serious crash don't always show up right away. Neck and back pain, headaches, dizziness, and numbness in the arms or legs can develop over the following days as inflammation builds and soft tissue injuries become more apparent. Continued monitoring in the days after a crash is often just as important as the initial visit.
Left untreated, injuries from a rollover or high-speed collision can sometimes progress into longer-term issues, including chronic pain or restricted mobility. Starting rehabilitation early may help address these symptoms before they become harder to manage.
An auto injury care provider in Columbia can help build your recovery plan around the specific way your injuries occurred, rather than a one-size-fits-all approach. A provider familiar with crash-related injuries can also help track your progress over time and adjust treatment as new symptoms emerge.
