Boone County, MO (August 3, 2026) – A 42-year-old Centralia man was seriously hurt Saturday afternoon, August 1, after his motorcycle and an SUV collided on Route U, south of Ricketts Road.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol said the wreck happened around 3:50 p.m. A 55-year-old Hallsville man driving a Ford Explorer was turning left onto Route U when he pulled into the path of the oncoming motorcycle.
The motorcyclist was ejected from the bike and came to rest in a ditch off the east side of the road.
He was taken by Boone County Ambulance to University Hospital for treatment. Both vehicles were totaled and towed from the site.
The accident investigation remains active.
We wish the injured motorcyclist a full and speedy recovery.
Recovering from a motorcycle accident typically starts with exploring non-surgical treatment services before considering more invasive options. Injuries from being ejected during a crash frequently involve the spine, joints, and soft tissue, areas that can usually respond well to conservative, hands-on care when treatment begins early.
Riders who go through a high-impact wreck may experience compressed discs, joint misalignment, or soft tissue damage that limits movement and causes ongoing discomfort. Left untreated, these injuries can lead to stiffness or reduced mobility that lingers well beyond the initial recovery period.
Chiropractic care and spinal decompression therapy are frequently used together to help realign the spine and relieve pressure on affected discs and nerves. For patients dealing with more complex healing needs, hyperbaric oxygen therapy can also support faster tissue repair by increasing oxygen delivery throughout the body.
Because every crash affects the body differently, a personalized recovery plan matters more than a one-size-fits-all approach. A therapeutic care provider typically evaluates a patient's full range of symptoms, from joint pain to nerve-related discomfort, before building a treatment plan suited to their specific injuries.
At Lordex Spine Center, we specialize in injury rehabilitation and wellness and rehabilitation care for people recovering from motorcycle accidents and other crash-related injuries. We take a non-surgical approach designed around each patient's symptoms and long-term recovery goals.
