After a crash in Boone County, watch for pain, stiffness, headaches, dizziness, numbness, tingling, or changes in movement. Some symptoms can appear immediately, while others may become noticeable several hours or even days later.
When soreness develops gradually, pay attention to where you feel it and whether certain movements make it worse. Neck, back, shoulder, and joint discomfort may become more noticeable once your body has had time to settle after the collision.
If you develop headaches, dizziness, weakness, numbness, or difficulty moving normally, consider having your symptoms evaluated. An examination can help identify painful or restricted movements and determine whether additional testing may be appropriate.
Even if you can stand or walk after a collision, pain or stiffness can still develop later. The stress and adrenaline that follow a sudden crash may temporarily make discomfort less noticeable during the first few hours.
As symptoms develop, keeping track of when they began and which activities make them better or worse may be helpful. These details can provide useful information during an evaluation and show how the symptoms affect your daily movement.
